I first discovered the sounds from the Brighton based producer William Phillips through his former stage name, Little Loud, who's remixes I've featured here several times. After being away from the scene for some time, Phillips is now back with the first single under his new moniker, Tourist. Placid Acid was released earlier today and will be featured on Tourist's debut Ep coming out sometime soon.

Nils Frahm
Here's the opening track from the new mixtape by Bag Raiders, released earlier today. The track by Nils Frahm isn't like anything I've ever posted before. The amazing ambient sounds from the German composer speak best for themselves.
Nils Frahm - More
More is taken from Frahm's latest album, Felt. It appears that Frahm stumbled upon the ideal sound for the pieces while trying to be a good neighbor. In his attempt to work late into the night, yet respect his neighbours, Frahm designed methods of dampening the sound of his piano. Using the damper pedal, placing fabric over the strings of the piano, playing very lightly so as not to disturb his neighbours slumber. Doing so, he created the sound for this record. And it’s stunning.

AM & Shawn Lee
One of last year's most interesting collaborations is definitely the electro-soul-duo-turned-four-piece AM & Shawn Lee. The talented beat maker, Shawn Lee, always has his hand in the cookie jar when it comes to collaborating with musically talented people. His partner in crime this time is, AM, a vocalist from L.A. The two worked on this album by sending the tracks back and forth over the internet. Celestial Electric is the result of this match made in cyber heaven.
