NO CEREMONY///

Can't seem to get enough of the Manchester outfit No Ceremony///. The band announced earlier this week that they are releasing a limited edition 10" Vinyl, including the two singles Hurtlove and Wearme. In my opinion, the best track (of the three that have been released to date) is still Deliverus. So, once again, here it is. Enjoy!

NO CEREMONY/// - Deliverus

Download Deliverus, check out some visuals for Hurtlove and Wearme or order the exclusive 10" on the bands website.

Finally, we get to see the first sample of the new, hand colored version of the short film, Le Voyage Dans La Lune, (the first science fiction film ever made) from 1902, accompanied by the brilliant sounds of Air. If you've missed the beautiful collab, Seven Stars, with Victoria Legrand of Beach House - check it out HERE. The complete album, inspired by their work with the soundtrack, will be released on February 6.

Goldfrapp

The electro-pop project of Allison Goldfrapp and her band will release The Singles, an impressive, career-spanning retrospective of their hits to date, on February 6, and it’ll also include two new songs, including the stunning Yellow Halo, which you can listen to now. Posted below you'll also find my favorite Goldfrapp remix by the phenomenal producer, Little Loud.

Korallreven

The Swedish balearic pop duo Korallreven end this year with a sweet video for As Young As Yesterday.

Korallreven takes its time. Although the duo debuted its first single two years ago, a first full-length album, the inventively-titled An Album by Korallreven, wasn't released until a few weeks ago. Everything about the video for their first single, "As Young As Yesterday," directed by Marcus Söderlund, reflects this disregard for the ticking clock: the laid-back synth-pop rhythms guided by a faithful 808, repeated lyric "What's age anyway?," and a familiar black-and-white aesthetic. We follow a young skater (played by Nisse Ingemarsoon) wearing an unremarkable white T-shirt as he travels in slow motion. He's going nowhere in particular; every road looks the same, an eerily empty LA highway flanked by palm trees. He passes an occasional high-rise, a pedestrian or two, but everything is slightly out of focus—an ambiguous film set. However old you were yesterday, you'll find something to be nostalgic for in Korallreven's video. Time, geography, and bothersome aging are successfully suspended until the song gradually fades away.

Ifan Dafydd

Pretty cool sounds from the mystery man behind the moniker, Ifan Dafydd. From what I've heard he is set to release his debut early next year. To Me was released just hours ago, listen to it below.

Sinkane

Here's some original vibes from Ahmed Gallab, a.k.a Sinkane. Gallab currently serves as the drummer/multi-instrumentalist in Yeasayer, but he has also played with acts like Caribou and Of Montreal. The track, Jeeper Creeper, from Sinkane's upcoming Lp, Mars, sounds a lot like Yeasayer, mixed with Ali Farka Toure and the African folk-vibes much associated with him. Listen below!

Nujabes

Nujabes music is without doubts something out of the ordinary. It's hard to come up with any other beatmaker with such personal sounds. Play a song by the Japanese mastermind and you will know by the first bars that it's made by him. Tragically last year Nujabes died in a car accident, but in 2011 his music lives on with his final album, Spiritual State, that was released on Dec 3rd in Japan. Listen to three samples of the album below.

Nujabes - Far Fowls

Nujabes - Spiral

Nujabes - Prayer

Alex Winston x Black Keys x the Mummers

I've loved Everlasting Light ever since I first heard it on The Black Keys' amazing album Brothers. Some of you might remember the cinematic remix of the song, by the Mummers, I posted a while back. Well it's time for another brilliant take on the song - this time it's a sweet cover by the american songstress Alex Winston, who recorded the track to promote her upcoming album, King Con, dropping in February next year.

Air ft. Victoria Legrand

As mentioned earlier, the French musical masterminds of Air are planning to release a soundtrack made for a hand coloured version of Georges Méliès 1902 silent film Le Voyage Dans La Lune. Listen to the stunning track Seven Stars, on which the duo join forces with Victoria Legrand from Beach House. Magnificent, absolutely gorgeous, etc.

The first taste from Miike Snow's upcoming album, set to be released next year, surfaced earlier today. Listen/watch below.

The Roots

It's here - The Roots' tenth studio album, Undun, is out.

“At this point in our career we’d like for our work to have a unifying theme, and an experiential quality. We’ve been intentionally making our albums shorter in length so that they can be experienced as a continuous work. The music is band-oriented with an eye on the moody cinematic. As a DJ, I am the King of playlists, but I don’t want our albums to feel like a playlist or a mixtape for that matter. We want to tell stories that work within the album format and we want the stories to be nuanced and useful to people. Undun is the story of this kid who becomes criminal, but he wasn’t born criminal. He’s not the nouveau exotic primitive bug-eyed gunrunner likeTupac’s character Bishop in Juice… he’s actually thoughtful and is neither victim nor hero. Just some kid who begins to order his world in a way that makes the most sense to him at a given moment… At the end of the day… isn’t that what we all do?”

Chairlift

The third outtake from Chairlift's upcoming Lp, Something, is here. Met Before is Chairlift's most bombastic song so far - big synths and thumping beats, listen below.

Foster The People

Foster The People return with this quirky cover of The Strokes' song Machu Picchu, my favorite track from Angles.

Foster The People - Machu Picchu (The Strokes Cover)

The Black Keys

The fact that The Black Keys are releasing their second album soon AND that it's, once again, being produced by Danger Mouse (Gnarls Barkley, Broken Bells, Gorillaz etc.) is two of the best news in a while. Look out for the long awaited, El Camino, set to be released next week, on December 7.

The Black Keys - Gold On The Ceiling

The Internet x Little Dragon

In September, First Lady of Odd Future, Syd the Kyd, remixed Little Dragon's Seconds into faded sweetness. Here, LD returns the favor, flipping Syd and OF producer, Matt Martians’ duo, The Internet's Cocaine into something bell-laden and thumping with Syd’s vocals floating over the beat like fairy dust. The Internet are set to release their first album, Purple Naked Ladies, digitally on Odd Future Records on December 20th.

La Shark x Get People

Sweet tropical remix from London based trio Get People.

Jono Mccleery

Got this little gem sent over by a friend. Can't believe I've missed out on all the goodness delivered by the Londoner Jono Mccleery. Don't know where to start describing Mccleery's sounds. There's bits of Nick Drake and James Buckley, hints of Fink (who's backing up on the album) and James Blake, at times resembling with Grizzly Bear - but essentially it's all done in a very personal manner. Listen to  Tomorrow and Fears below, taken from Mccleery's latest album, There Is, released via Ninja Tunes - available in its entirety on Spotify.

Oh, I forgot to mention - Jono has toured with  the likes of Gil Scott Heron, Bonobo, Fink, Jose Gonzales, Little Dragon, Jamie Woon, Portico Quartet...

Jono Mccleery - Fears

Don't miss this delicate remix by Fybe:one (who produced the album).

Bon Iver

Here is the first visuals from Bon Iver's upcoming digital re-release of his sophomore album which drops tomorrow. Instead of including bonus tracks and outtakes, the band is throwing in visual accompaniments for each of the 10 songs on the album - "said to be best experienced on a mobile device with headphones on". To better understand it, read the press release below:

Comprised of individual visual works that both complement and enrich the audio on the album, the video accompaniment was in itself another year in the making. Featuring work by Dan Huiting, Isaac Gale, David Jensen, JoLynn Garnes and Justin Vernon, the video work is meant to be consumed as a visual extension of the music, to enhance each listener’s experience with one of the year’s most acclaimed albums. While not music videos per se, these visual accompaniments are striking in their distinctive atmosphere, and compelling works in their own right.

The Weeknd

Watch the first official video from Toronto's super hyped The Weeknd, directed by Mikael Colombu. I'm definitely not a big fan of the visuals below, however The Weeknd is a must to check out for those of you who haven't. The Knowning is of the Canadians critically acclaimed mixtape House Of Balloons released earlier this year. Download House Of Balloons and the latest addition, Thursday, HERE.
